Giant Aneurysmal Bone Cyst of the Right Femur about a Case

Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a rare tumor accounting for 1% - 4% of benign tumors. Its etiopathogenesis remains unknown. The main site the metaphysis long bones. ABC occurs almost exclusively in young people, with slight female predominance. We report an exceptional case femur involvement right hip 16-year-old girl Medical Imaging Department Pr Bocar Sidy Sall Hospital Kati (Mali). will discuss clinical and radiological aspects this pathology. Observation: Mrs N C., aged 16, was referred to orthopaedic-traumatology department X-ray thigh, indicated as having large, disabling thigh. Clinical examination revealed large thigh measuring 890 mm circumference, compared 300 on contralateral side. Radiographically, showed blown appearance, cortex thinned broken places. Exceptionally, lesion affected entire femur. On CT scan, we found voluminous fluid collection occupying femur, including femoral head homolateral ischium. interrupted places, adjacent soft tissues were or laminated, but not infiltrated. Histology haemorrhagic inflammatory elements compatible diagnosis ABC. Conclusion: entity that often difficult diagnose. imaging, topographical distribution histology form indissociable whole establish certainty.
